Dear Colleagues,

Most of us think 'plane' if we need to get to Glasgow, Edinburgh or even down to London, but when I met colleagues in the Travel Centre I heard how more and more people - over 150,000 last year - are using our cross channel express coach services. Passengers like the value for money, the opportunity to take extra luggage and the service is seen as a real alternative to air travel.

New coaches and features like the free WiFi, along with no hidden charges (unlike some airlines) have all gone down very well and many students in particular, like the convenience of being able to hop on the coach to come home on impulse. This summer, we are also looking forward to providing transport direct to the T in The Park Music Festival in Glasgow which will no doubt be popular.

Our NIR Travel colleagues tell me Railbreak sales are also up 44% on last year; this is no surprise as some of my own friends travelled to Dublin on a Railbreak recently and were very complimentary about the Enterprise service and the quality of the hotel. It was great to see behind the scenes and congratulate the staff on their efforts since moving to a new office in the Travel Centre.

These successes reflect the enthusiasm and commitment of these teams.

So, if you are starting to think about getting a short break away or maybe even planning your own summer holidays don't forget that staff, friends and family can all get up to 10% discount on NIR Travel Railbreaks and Ulsterbus Tours - we have a range of great value breaks to destinations right across Ireland, Scotland, England, and Continental Europe – all details are on line at www.translink.co.uk/nirtravel or www.ulsterbustours.com/
