Macmillan Cancer Support

"Taking part in charity partner activities will be extremely rewarding."
11th July 2013

Dear Colleagues,

This week we announced our new charity partner – Macmillan Cancer Support.

Over 70,000 people of all ages are living with cancer in Northern Ireland and 23 people are diagnosed with the disease every day.

This new partnership is a great opportunity to raise awareness of the medical, emotional and practical support available to the many people affected by cancer right across Northern Ireland.

Supporting our 'Go Together' and 'Go Healthy' ethos, we look forward to working closely with Macmillan Cancer Support to deliver a range of initiatives that will promote, protect and enhance the wellbeing of employees, passengers and local society as a whole.

The partnership will also link up with the charity's 'Not Alone' campaign to highlight isolation issues experienced by cancer patients living in Northern Ireland and the support available to them.

We have an innovative and informative programme of fundraising events and initiatives planned for the upcoming year.

Taking part in our charity partner activities will be extremely rewarding and I hope you can get involved. For more information on Macmillan Cancer Support and the important work they do please visit

This week we are enjoying very hot weather and as the sunny spell continues I would like to urge everyone to stay safe in the sun by taking steps such as drinking plenty of water, covering-up and applying sun cream.

I know many of you will be working over the public holiday weekend and I would like to thank you for your efforts to keep our services running so that our customers can get out and about to enjoy Northern Ireland this summer.
