Dear Colleagues,

I would like to thank every one of you who has looked after our passengers despite the considerable disruption caused by the recent poor weather. In particular, our drivers, inspectors, supervisors and control teams have adapted to very changeable and often dangerous conditions. They have remained cautious and professional at all times to ensure passenger safety.

I am very proud of all the staff here at Translink; our customers have inundated us with praise and kind words on drivers’ attentiveness in the poor weather. Here are just a few examples below of what our customers had to say,

“Please thank whoever was driving the number eighteen school bus from Our Lady and St Patrick’s School Knock to Carryduff this afternoon. They did a fantastic job under very difficult conditions. It’s not easy to drive in the snow never mind having so many lively teens on board, so please thank him.”

“I write to express my sincere thanks to be served by such a dedicated and thoughtful team of drivers. Their kindness and thoughtfulness was brought home to me during the recent spell of snowy weather, when the drivers on duty showed consideration and kindness that goes well beyond the call of duty.”

Rail services also continued to operate fully through the severe weather conditions – thanks also to all rail colleagues who ensured the lines ran smoothly.
