Whitehead Victorian Street Fair, Saturday 23 November 2013

Translink – helping to make life better by supporting local community events…

An annual event where the whole town becomes part of a Victorian Christmas, incorporating the Christmas Carol Service, the switching on of the Christims lights and the Christmas fireworks display. Whitehead's Victorian Street Fair has become a popular day out for visitors from all over the province, who come to see the many Victorian type attractions, visit the market/fair in the Community Centre and just wander througn the streets of this Victorian era town, watching all the street attractions, such as fire eaters, the Grinch and a Penny-farthing cyclist.
Most of the shops in town decorate themselves with a Victorian theme and the shopkeepers and shop assistances dress in typical Victorian costume. Many of the customers and visitors also take the opportunity to dress up in Victorian costume.

The streets of Whitehead will come alive this November to the sights, sounds and tastes of the Whitehead Victorian Street Fair.

Sample the delights of this by-gone era and the nostalgia of old-fashioned living.
