Translink celebrates Fitter’s 40 year Service

12 December 2016

This week local man, Colin Smith from Newtownabbey, has celebrated long service at Translink by receiving his 40 Year Service Award.

Colin started on 15th October 1976 in Duncrue Street as an Apprentice Fitter, after graduating as a Fitter he remained in the Duncrue Street Depot until 1987 when he moved to the engineering faciliaty in Milewater Road (previously called Smithfield Depot).

In June 1990 Colin moved into the new Depot in Newtownabbey and is still working there.  Colin is also on the Health and Safety Committee where he makes a valuable contribution.

It is so important to recognise these individuals who have given so many years’ dedicated service to Translink and Public Transport in N.I.
