Coleraine representatives meet Translink to support rail service enhancement

09 December 2013

Coleraine political and business representatives recently joined Translink officials to support the announcement of rail service enhancements between Coleraine and Derry~Londonderry, commencing January 6.

The meeting also provided a platform to discuss local bus service developments, Christmas travel arrangements and Translink’s new ‘Life’s better’ campaign.

The additional train service will leave Derry~Londonderry at 4.13pm and arrive in Coleraine at 5.01pm. The return service will leave Coleraine at 5.55pm and arrive in Derry~Londonderry at 6.42pm.

Speaking at the event, Translink NI Railways Route Manager, Frank Moore, said:
“We identified a good opportunity to further enhance the train service during peak hours, Monday – Friday, giving our customers better journey flexibility and we are pleased so many local representatives are here to support the announcement.

“It was also an excellent opportunity to inform representatives about our new ‘Life’s better’ campaign highlighting all the benefits of using the bus and train to give people a better lifestyle – from relaxing on board to using free WiFi, saving on car fuel costs to reducing journey times.

“As part of the campaign we are asking customers to consider becoming Translink Ambassadors – people who use the bus or train, are benefiting from the service they receive and would help us encourage other people to give it a go. For full details on this initiative click

“Representatives were also given the opportunity to climb on board one of our new interurban buses now in service which meet the highest standards in terms of comfort, accessibility and emissions.
“We would like to thank everyone for attending this event and ask for their continued support as we work hard to deliver attractive services for everyone in Coleraine,” said Frank.
