Bus Eireann Industrial Action 

Due to industrial action by Bus Eireann employees on Friday 24th March and until further notice, cross border coach services operated by Bus Eireann will not be will be operating. However, Translink’s Goldline services will run.“Translink’s cross border Goldline coach services, the X2 from Belfast to Dublin Airport and Dublin city centre and X4 from Derry~Londonderry will operate as per normal timetable, and with extra capacity where required.


“However, services on the X1 and X3 timetables, which are shared with Bus Eireann, will be subject to disruption. For further details please check our website www.translink.co.uk for up to date information.
To lessen the impact on cross border travellers, we are working closely with Northern Ireland Railways to offer alternative means of travel to Dublin.


“Coach services will not be able to pick up or drop off at Dublin’s main bus depot Busáras, but will instead use the coach bays at Connolly Station to pick-up and drop-off passengers in Dublin City Centre. Dublin Airport stops will operate as normal.


“Published timetables identify the company that operate each service and we urge customers to check before travelling if the chosen service will be running.


“Full timetable and travel information is available on our website www.translink.co.uk or through our Contact Centre on 028 90 66 66 30. Updates will also be provided through our social media channels.”

 
Update Derry~Londonderry City, Thursday 23rd March 2017 

All bus services now operating as normal (1936).

 
Holywood Services 

Due to road works buses will not be able to serve Holywood (centre) between 1900 - 0600 each evening until further notice.

From Belfast to Bangor direction buses will alight & pick up at the Rail Station in Holywood*.
From Bangor to Belfast direction buses will alight & pick up as close to Redburn Square*. 

*This is subject to change

 
318c Ballynahinch Town Service 
Due to ongoing works in the Croob Park area (by Phoenix Gas) service 318c will not be able to serve Riverside Road…this is ongoing until further notice. 
 
132/A Ulsterbus Service Disruption - Dunluce Castle
132/A Ulsterbus services will be unable to serve Dunluce Castle between 08:00 – 18:00 daily from Monday 20th to Friday 24th March 2017 due to road works.
(07:30 ex Portrush will still serve Dunluce Castle at 07:40)
 

Carrickmore Diversion Monday 20th March -  Thursday 23rd March 2017 

Carrickmore Town Centre will be closed to buses between 08.00-18.00 on 20 - 23rd March 2017.
-School buses in the morning will be able to lift pupils from its normal bus stop outside the Patrician Hall in Carrickmore, but will not have access to drop them off in the afternoon…service 86 and School buses will divert via the Quarry Road and drop off at the junction of Ballintrain Road and Quarry road….this is also the pick-up point for service 86 throughout the day. 

 

26b & 325g Service Information 

Due to a **road closure from Monday 20th March to Sunday 16th April 2017 passengers intending to avail of servces 26b and 325g are advised to go to the temporary stop at the junction of Carnreagh and Ballynahinch roads.
**(Ballynahinch Street in Hillsborough is closed affecting the Arthur Street bus stop - only 26b / 325g services travelling (North) towards Lisburn are affected. 

 

Ulsterbus Service 38 Disruption - Hillsborough

Due to a gas main being laid in Hillsborough, the  Main Street/Lisburn Road will be closed continuously from Monday 6th March to Sunday 9th April the following diversions will apply northbound only.

Service 38 and Banbridge to Belfast school services: will operate from the Kensington Gardens stop on the Lisburn Road.

Southbound services will operate as normal.

 

315A Downpatrick Service Information 

Due to operational reasons service 315A will be omitting Asda Retail Park until further notice.

 

40E Service Information 

The Service 40 E will not be serving stops between Whitecross and Kingsmills Crossroads because of roadworks. Diversion in place. This is expected to last for the next 7 weeks (from 20 February 2017).

 

153, 153a, 149, 154 and 256 Service Information 

Ballyclare & Doagh Services may be subject to delays due to roadworks in both Ballyclare area and Doagh village.
Roadworks in Ballyclare are expected to last until further notice and the roadworks in Doagh village are expected to last for at least another month (until end of March 2017). 

 

73 Service Armagh - Caledon - Ballygawley 

Due to road works in Caledon and until further notice the 8.55 , 11.05, 13.25 and 14.25 to Caledon from Armagh will not be able to serve Caledon.

The 9.25,11.35, 13.35 14.55 from Caledon to Armagh will also not be able to serve Caledon….nearest stop is Killylea.
The 7.15 and 8.15 from Caledon will operate as normal & the 15.30 to Caledon and 16.35 to Ballygawley will be allowed through the roadworks.

Buses in and out of Tynan should be ok, but passengers from Abbey Park (Tynan) will have to make their way to the Main St (Tynan).

 

240/33 Mayobridge Road Closure - Mondays to Fridays only from 13 February until 7 April

Route Diversions Mondays to Fridays only from 13 February until 7 April

  • Service 33 will not serve Hilltown between 0900 & 1600. Services will operate via Drumgath to Rathfriland only.
  • Passengers travelling to and from Hilltown can use Service 240
  • Goldline Service 240 will not serve Maybobridge between 0900 & 1500. Services will operate via Shinn Road between Newry and Rathfriland.

143, 144, 145 & FY1 Service Information

Commencing Monday 23 January, the citybound stop on Limavady Road near to Brigade cricket club will be suspended daily (Mon -Fri) between 09:30 & 16:30 to allow for works by NI water to take place . The nearest alternatives are at the new Foyle College gate or opposite Deanfield.

The works are expected to take around 13 weeks and will affect services 143 144 145 & FY1. Please expect delays to these services along with service 234 as a contraflow will be in operation.

Normal service will operate before 09.30 and after 16.30 & all day Saturday and Sunday. 

 

263A Dromore Road/Trailcock Road, Carrickfergus

263A Ulsterbus services are omitting Dromore Road & Trailcock Road until further notice due to resurfacing works.

Buses operating via Downshire Gardens to Shore Road then as normal.

 

Ulsterbus - College Avenue (King Street) Bus Lay-by Closure

Due to a major building development in the area the joint Ulsterbus/Metro bus stop at College Ave (King Street) lay-by will be temporarily suspended from Monday 24th October 2016.

A new Ulsterbus alighting bus stop will be located at the start of the bus lane in College Ave.

 

Killagan Stop (Logans Fashion) Services 173 & 218 Information

Due to road works on the A26, the bus shelter has been removed and coned off at Logans Fashions (Killagan) northbound until further notice.

A temporary stop is in operation 100 metres further northbound, just past the end of the Killagan Road end...This will affect all 218 and 173 services toward Ballymoney and Coleraine. 

 

Ulsterbus - Stewartstown Road Stop Suspension - Ongoing

With immediate effect, due to construction works the bus stop located on the Stewartstown Road CITY BOUND at the Shaws Road junction has been suspended for the duration of the Belfast Rapid Transport works to the footpath.

The nearest alternative stops are located at Stewartstown Road – Saint Genevieve’s (Connor Rise) or Andersonstown Road – Ballyowen. This will affect Ulsterbus service 532.

 

Ulsterbus - Donegall Street Relocation of Bus Stop from 9th October 2015 - Relocation of 1st bus stop in York Street

Due to demolition and rebuilding work associated with the new University of Ulster building at York Street it will be necessary to suspend the first stop in York Street for 30 months from 09:30 on Friday 9th October 2015.

All services Metro and Ulsterbus will all be relocated to the 2nd stop  near Frederick Street. The inner lane will be taken out to be used as a covered walkway for pedestrians as there will be a hoarding the length of the footpath from Donegall Street to Frederick Street for the duration of the work.

The bus shelter will be inaccessible but there will be a marked gap in the covered walkway to allow boarding/alighting at this point.

 

Dufferin Avenue, Bangor Overflow Car Park

Free passenger overflow parking now available at Dufferin Avenue, Bangor for Translink passengers.
