Belfast Marathon Monday 1st May 2017

Translink would like to inform passengers that services may be subject to delays, diversions and possible disruption on the day of the Marathon. We are advising that you allow extra time for your journey and keep up to date on this page or follow us on twitter @Translink_NI or alternatively NI Railways is operating a Saturday timetable.

International Airport Service 300/300A
Buses will omit City Centre stops and operate from Europa Bus Centre ONLY between 0800 and 1300.

Antrim, Ballymena and Coleraine
We advise passengers to board at Europa Bus Centre as services may be unable to pick up at City Centre bus stops due to the Marathon.

Ballyclare and Larne
Services should be unaffected as do not operate until after 1230.

Carrickfergus and Newtownabbey
Service 563 will operate a Sunday Service and will follow a diversionary route between the hours of 0900 and 1300. Services will be subject to diversions, short notice alterations as per instruction from PSNI and Marathon Management.

  • Services operating from Belfast will not serve High Street Buses will depart Yorkgate Station, Brougham Street, North Queen Street and Shore Road and join the Motorway at Fortwilliam and then operate as usual.  Unfortunately buses will not serve all bus stops and are likely to terminate at Yorkgate Station.
  • Services operating city bound, will follow normal route and will omit Shore Road (Merville Garden Village) and operate via the Motorway, coming off the Motorway at Fortwilliam, Shore Road and terminating at Yorkgate Station.

Downpatrick and Newcastle
Passengers are advised that on Monday 1st May between 0800 and 1300 , bus services 515 and 520 will depart from Europa Bus or the Gas Works Only. Buses will not serve Adelaide Street during this time.
 
Upper Square, Castlewellan - Bus Stop Suspension

Due to the annual May Fair; the Upper Square stop in Castlewellan has been suspended to accommodate stall holders & Traders on Monday 1st May 2017.

All intending passengers for Goldline Service 240 please await service at St.Malachy’s Chapel. 

Service 240 to Newry, Please wait opposite chapel. 
Service 240 to Newcastle & Downpatrick,Please wait outside St.Malachy’s.

All other services please use Lower Square stops.

Please signal driver your intention to board.

North West 200

Ballynahinch Area Service Disruption - From Mon 8th May 2017

Phoenix Gas will be carrying out works relaying gas pipes in and around Ballynahinch from Monday 8th May 2017 until end of week commencing 30th October 2017.

The works will be done under lane closures and traffic lights; so no diversions will be required, but the works will cause major disruption and delays to all services operating within Ballynahinch town centre.

Downpatrick Delays 19 April - 30 April 2017

Phoenix gas will be working in Downpatrick from next Wednesday 19th April to 30th April between B2 Annacloy road and Bridge Street along the A7….delays / disruption are possible to the following services:

  • 14, 15, 16, 16e, 19, 215 and 315c. 
 
31 Ulsterbus Service Disruption - Banbridge-Rathfriland
31 Ulsterbus services are omitting McBrides Corner (Moneyslane) in both directions due to resurfacing works until further notice. 
 
19 Cumber Road, Drumaness Closure - From next Wednesday 19th April for a period of approx. 4wks

Phoenix Gas will be closing the Cumber Road, Drumaness to through traffic from next Wednesday 19th April for a period of approx. 4wks.  

This will impact on the service 19 route between Downpatrick and Ballynahinch.

Diversion route will be as follows:

  • Downpatrick Bus Centre
  • A7 Belfast Road
  • B2 Annacloy Road
  • Left at Annacloy X Roads
  • Loughinisland Road
  • Right at Crawfordstown Road
  • Drumaness Road• Drumaness Village
  • A24 Drumaness/Newcastle Road
  • Church Road
  • Ballynahinch, Windmill Street

 

The return journey from Ballynahinch will be the above only in reverse.

Cumber road, Drumaness will not be served in either direction.

 
Ulsterbus Services 26B & 325G Service Disruption

Ballynahinch Street, Hillsborough is closed from Monday 10th April 2017 until further notice due to installation of a gas main.

Services 26B and 325G will not service the below bus stops during the closure:

Arthur Street
Wapping Lane
Lisburn Street
Hillsborough Police Station

Passengers are advised to board/alight at a temporary bus stop at junction of Carnreagh Road / Old Ballynahinch Road (Both Sides). 

 
303a Service Information 
From 04/04/17 the 303a will only serve Cypress, Beachfield and Ashfield in D/dee on the inward journeys due to the road works on the High Road - until further notice.
 
A26 Killagan Bus Stop - From Tuesday 4th April 2017

From Tuesday 4th April 2017 the bus stop will be relocated to its new permanent position on the Cloughmills Road.

Ballymena bound traffic take the slip road  at Drumadoon and head towards Cloughmills.  The bus stop is located on the footpath. Continue to the roundabout and turn back onto the A26. 

 
Newry Town Service 338F - Derrybeg
Due to road works Derrybeg will NOT be served until further notice.
 
18 Spa Works Commencing Monday 19th April

Due to Phoenix Gas works in the Ballynahinch area starting from Wednesday 19th April 2017 – Sunday 21st May 2017 part of the service 18 route won’t be serviced between Spa Church (Spa Village) and McCauley’s Lough (Castlewellan Bound).  Diversions will be in operation between Drumaroad and Ballynahinch via Drumsnade Road exiting at School Corner onto the main service 20 route in both directions. - following stops wil not be served;

• McCurries Corner, McCauley’s Lough
• Spa Church
• Carlisles

A shuttle bus will however operate between Ballynahinch and Spa to connect with the Belfast and school buses (Times below);

318c Ballynahinch Town Service 
Due to ongoing works in the Croob Park area (by Phoenix Gas) service 318c will not be able to serve Riverside Road…this is ongoing until further notice. 
 

315A Downpatrick Service Information 

Due to operational reasons service 315A will be omitting Asda Retail Park until further notice.

 

153, 153a, 149, 154 and 256 Service Information 

Ballyclare & Doagh Services may be subject to delays due to roadworks in both Ballyclare area and Doagh village.
Roadworks in Ballyclare are expected to last until further notice and the roadworks in Doagh village are expected to last for at least another month (until end of March 2017). 

 

263A Dromore Road/Trailcock Road, Carrickfergus

263A Ulsterbus services are omitting Dromore Road & Trailcock Road until further notice due to resurfacing works.

Buses operating via Downshire Gardens to Shore Road then as normal.

 

Ulsterbus - College Avenue (King Street) Bus Lay-by Closure

Due to a major building development in the area the joint Ulsterbus/Metro bus stop at College Ave (King Street) lay-by will be temporarily suspended from Monday 24th October 2016.

A new Ulsterbus alighting bus stop will be located at the start of the bus lane in College Ave.

 

Killagan Stop (Logans Fashion) Services 173 & 218 Information

Due to road works on the A26, the bus shelter has been removed and coned off at Logans Fashions (Killagan) northbound until further notice.

A temporary stop is in operation 100 metres further northbound, just past the end of the Killagan Road end...This will affect all 218 and 173 services toward Ballymoney and Coleraine. 

 

Ulsterbus - Stewartstown Road Stop Suspension - Ongoing

With immediate effect, due to construction works the bus stop located on the Stewartstown Road CITY BOUND at the Shaws Road junction has been suspended for the duration of the Belfast Rapid Transport works to the footpath.

The nearest alternative stops are located at Stewartstown Road – Saint Genevieve’s (Connor Rise) or Andersonstown Road – Ballyowen. This will affect Ulsterbus service 532.

 

Ulsterbus - Donegall Street Relocation of Bus Stop from 9th October 2015 - Relocation of 1st bus stop in York Street

Due to demolition and rebuilding work associated with the new University of Ulster building at York Street it will be necessary to suspend the first stop in York Street for 30 months from 09:30 on Friday 9th October 2015.

All services Metro and Ulsterbus will all be relocated to the 2nd stop  near Frederick Street. The inner lane will be taken out to be used as a covered walkway for pedestrians as there will be a hoarding the length of the footpath from Donegall Street to Frederick Street for the duration of the work.

The bus shelter will be inaccessible but there will be a marked gap in the covered walkway to allow boarding/alighting at this point.

 

Dufferin Avenue, Bangor Overflow Car Park

Free passenger overflow parking now available at Dufferin Avenue, Bangor for Translink passengers.
