Ulsterbus Travel Updates

Thomas Street, Dungannon Roadworks 

Thomas Street, Dungannon has been closed due to roadworks. Ulsterbus services that use this Street will instead be diverted via Greers Road.

Passengers can still be uplifted in Scotch Street as normal

 

Lisburn Road, Hillsborough Roadworks 

Southbound Ulsterbus services 38, 238, 538, 26 and 325 are currently unable to serve Lisburn Road and Lisburn Street on the approach into Hillsborough due to roadworks.  Works are expected to last approximately 3 weeks.

Services will instead operate via Carnreagh Road and Ballynahinch Street.

Services travelling in the direction of Lisburn/Belfast are unaffected.

 

Ulsterbus - Holywood Service Disruption

Due to roadworks in Holywood all Belfast bound passengers are advised to board at the Northern Bank stop only, until further notice.

 

Service 15/215 Diversion from Monday 25th July - Downpatrick to Crossgar

Due to major road works between Downpatrick and Crossgar between 09:15hrs and 16:30hrs Monday to Saturday, services 15/215 will be diverted via Killyleagh. Pickup and Set Down for Crossgar Passengers will be from Old Police Station/Lissara Close.

Diverted services will not serve Shrigley/Killyleagh.

These essential road works will be in place for approximately 10 days commencing Monday 25th July.

140A/B Red Sails Event Portstewart, 30 July 

The following services to and from Portstewart are subject to change and will now operate via Station Road, Mill Road, Coleraine Road, Seafield Park, Berne Avenue & Strand Road.  The Griddle Bakery, The Promenade, Atlantic Circle & The York will NOT be served;

19:20 140B (ex Portstewart)

20:30  140A (ex Portstewart)

(On all other dates of the event (24 July until 30 July) services will NOT be diverted however the 140A/B services will be subject to traffic delays and short notice cancellations potentially as the traffic will be heavier than normal).

131, 178 & 217 Diversion Armoy Road Races, Friday 29 & Saturday 30 July

On Friday 29/07/15 from 12:30 until 21:30 and on Saturday 30/07/15 from 10:00 until 19:30 the main A44 road will be closed to buses from Carneatley Bridge to the Drones due to the Armoy Road Races.

The 131 and 217 services from Ballymena will turn left off the main A44 Drones road onto the Bregagh Road signposted for Gracehill Golf Club. (McMullan Memorials with an outside stone wall is also at this junction.)  Follow this road to first crossroads at Clintyfinnan (Bushside Cottages) and go straight on. At next crossroads turn right onto Ballykenver Road. At next crossroads turn left onto Carrowreagh Road. At end of road turn right onto Dry Arch and immediately right again onto the main B67 Moyarget Road. Proceed directly to Ballycastle.

The 131 and 217 services from Ballycastle will take the main B67 Moyarget Road to the Dry Arch. Turn left and immediately left again onto Carrowreagh Road. Follow to first crossroads and turn right onto Ballykenver Road. At next crossroads turn left onto Bregagh Road. At next crossroads Bushside Cottages go straight on. At end of road turn right onto main A44 Drones Road.

All 178 services will follow the same routes as above from Clintyfinnan (Bushside Cottages).

Delays are to be expected.

 

377A Old Eglish Road - Monday 25th July 08.00 to 12th August 17.00

From Monday 25th July 08.00 to 12th August 17.00, the Old Eglish Road will be closed due to road works, this will affect the 377A Town Service to Moygashel, which will divert via the Eglish road from the Depot.

 

168B Carrickfergus / Ballyclare Service Information 

Due to road works on the North Road service 168B will be diverted as follows until further notice;

From Carrick - Sunnylands Avenue & Prospect Road
From Ballyclare - Dunluskin Ave (Marshallstown Road, B90) then Beltoys Road.

 

218 Coleraine / Belfast Service Information 

Due to road works on the Dual Carriageway (beside Killagan) delays are to be expected to the 218 Express services between Coleraine and Belfast until further notice.

 

Portavogie / Ballyhalbert Diversion  

High St Ballyhalbert will be closed from 08.00 Monday 18th until 17.00 Friday 22nd July 2016....Diversion via Coast Rd to & from Portavogie - most buses are diverted via Coast Road but 0955 ex Portaferry & any operating from Portavogie via Rubane to Kircubbin are unable to service Ballyhalbert...Glastry will also NOT be served.

 

102 Donemana Diversion 

Due to roadworks the 102 service will be diverted during July as follows:

For this week and next (4/7 - 18/7) the Berryhill Road will be closed at Artigarvan village (can board at Lescurry Park)...the diversion will be via Leckpatrick Road.

 

Lisburn / Crumlin 103 Diversion  

From Monday 4th July until further notice, Ulsterbus service 103 from Lisburn will operate via Nettlehill Road, Pond Park Road and Sheepwalk Road due to the Glenavy Road being closed (road works). This diversion will operate in reverse for services from Crumlin.
Passengers can avail of this service at Ballymacash or Filterbeds.

 

181/ FY12/ FY15 Buncrana Road, Derry

Due to resurfacing works taking place on Buncrana Road from 27 June and during July and August, it will be necessary to divert services 181, FY12 and FY15 towards the City Centre via Greenhaw Road and Culmore Road.

The diversion via Greenhaw Road applies all day only on the following dates:

  • Monday 27 June until Friday 1 July
  • Monday 4 July until Friday 8 July
  • Monday 25 July until Friday 29 July
  • Monday 1 August until Friday 19 August (including Saturdays & Sundays)
  • Monday 22 August until Friday 26 August

 

On the dates listed the citybound stops at Belmont, Messines Terrace and Pennyburn Chapel will be suspended. A temporary stop will be in use at Long’s on Greenhaw Road. Passengers at Pennyburn Chapel should use the Fort George Bus Stop. The routes towards Woodbrook and Slievemore are unaffected.

 

Newry Road, Armagh Diversion - Ulsterbus service 40 Diversion

Due to sewer works on the Newry Road in Armagh, Ulsterbus service 40 cannot serve any stops from Roadside Motors to Barrack Street, Armagh bound– all service 40’s from Markethill will be diverted via Ardmore, Orangefield and Barrack Hill.

Newry bound services will not be affected.

Service X4 will also follow this diversion.

Delays can be expected.

Works expected to be up to Friday 1st July 2016 inclusive.

 

Belfast to Ardglass Information 01 July 2016 

Please note than from Friday 1st July 2016, the last connection from Belfast to Ardglass will be service 215 at 1715 (Ex Europa).  This connects with 18:30 to Ardglass from Downpatrick Buscentre. 

 

 Ballymena Town Service Temporary Change - Service 324A/B/C/D

Please be advised that in the interests of passenger safety and on-going road works, a decision has been taken to withdraw the Ballymena town service from the centre of the town until further notice....the stops at Wellington Street & Broadway will both not be served.
The town service will depart from “the court house” and will service all normal routes.

 

Service FY12 Diversion Citybound - Buncrana Road Closure, Derry/Londonderry

Due to the closure of Buncrana Rd (citybound ONLY)  Ulsterbus FY12 Slievemore service will operate via Greenhaw Rd between the hours of 09:30 – 15:30  for all days from 23 May for a period of 8 weeks. Outside of these times service will operate the normal route.
Passengers intending to board at Pennyburn to travel into the city can board the service on it’s way down to Slievemore and remain on the bus until it reaches the city.
Passengers intending to board at Belmount during these times should make their way to a temporary bus stop erected on the Greenhaw Rd at Frank Longs Supermarket were they can board the FY12 service during these times.

 

659 Cairnshill Park & Ride to Stormont & Dundonald Hospital - New Service

Translink have introduced a new service which will operate from Cairnshill Park & Ride to Stormont & Dundonald Hospital Monday to Friday...it will be known as service 659.

Ulsterbus - Stewartstown Road Stop Suspension

With immediate effect, due to construction works the bus stop located on the Stewartstown Road CITY BOUND at the Shaws Road junction has been suspended for the duration of the Belfast Rapid Transport works to the footpath.
The nearest alternative stops are located at Stewartstown Road – Saint Genevieve’s (Connor Rise) or Andersonstown Road – Ballyowen. This will affect Ulsterbus service 532.

 
Ulsterbus - Donegall Street Relocation of Bus Stop

Relocation of 1st bus stop in York Street

Due to demolition and rebuilding work associated with the new University of Ulster building at York Street it will be necessary to suspend the first stop in York Street for 30 months from 09:30 on Friday 9th October 2015.

All services Metro and Ulsterbus will all be relocated to the 2nd stop  near Frederick Street. The inner lane will be taken out to be used as a covered walkway for pedestrians as there will be a hoarding the length of the footpath from Donegall Street to Frederick Street for the duration of the work.
The bus shelter will be inaccessible but there will be a marked gap in the covered walkway to allow boarding/alighting at this point.


Dufferin Avenue, Bangor Overflow Car Park

Free passenger overflow parking now available at Dufferin Avenue, Bangor for Translink passengers.
