Ulsterbus Travel Updates

Newry City Marathon - Sunday 29th May 2016

Services operating to/from Newry City may be subject to some delays/disruption between 08:00-12:00 on Sunday 29th May 2016 due to the marathon taking place.

Services will still be able to access the bus station as normal, and disruption will hopefully be kept to a minimum.

 

May Bank Holiday - Monday 30th May 2016

Ulsterbus services will operate a normal Monday timetable on Monday 30th May 2016 (May Bank Holiday).

 Ballymena Town Service Temporary Change - Service 324A/B/C/D

Please be advised that in the interests of passenger safety and on-going road works, a decision has been taken to withdraw the Ballymena town service from the centre of the town until further notice....the stops at Wellington Street & Broadway will both not be served.
The town service will depart from “the court house” and will service all normal routes.

 

Service FY12 Diversion Citybound - Buncrana Road Closure, Derry/Londonderry

Due to the closure of Buncrana Rd (citybound ONLY)  Ulsterbus FY12 Slievemore service will operate via Greenhaw Rd between the hours of 09:30 – 15:30  for all days from 23 May to 5th June inclusive. Outside of these times service will operate the normal route.
Passengers intending to board at Pennyburn to travel into the city can board the service on it’s way down to Slievemore and remain on the bus until it reaches the city.
Passengers intending to board at Belmount during these times should make their way to a temporary bus stop erected on the Greenhaw Rd at Frank Longs Supermarket were they can board the FY12 service during these times.

 

 150 & St Killian’s School Bus - Glenariff Road Roadworks - from 3rd May until 31st May 2016

Due to roadworks on the Glenariff Road, all services to and from Cushendun will operate via Waterfoot and Ballyemon Road.

This will result in delays to the advertised timetable.

 
5A Newtownards - Comber Timetable Amendment 

Please note; There is an error in the paper timetable for Saturday times on service 5A between Newtownards & Comber. The paper timetable incorrectly shows buses at below times:

11:00 5A Newtownards to Comber via Westwinds Estate & 11:30 5A Comber to Newtownards via Westwinds Estate.

The correct times are shown below as per online timetables and Journey Planner:

10:35 5A Newtownards to Comber via Westwinds & 11:00 5A Comber to Newtownards via Westwinds Estate.

NEW Banbridge Bus Station - Monday 18th April 2016

Banbridge Bus Station will open on Monday 18th April 2016.

Bus services will operate to/from this new facility located on Kenlis Street.

Passengers are advised that the War Memorial will no longer served from this date.

 
659 Cairnshill Park & Ride to Stormont & Dundonald Hospital - New Service

Translink have introduced a new service which will operate from Cairnshill Park & Ride to Stormont & Dundonald Hospital Monday to Friday...it will be known as service 659.

Station Road, Greenisland Road Works - Monday 11th April to Sunday 29th May 2016

163/166/367/563/566 and School Services that operate via Lower Station Road, Greenisland will be unable to operate along Station Road, Greenisland from Monday 11th April to Sunday 29th May 2016 due to road works.

A shuttle bus service will operate during the works from Greenisland Estate and go via Upper Station Road, Upper Road, Trooperslane and Shore Road to Ravenhill Nursing home for passengers to get their bus for onward travel from the nearest appropriate bus stop. (The shuttle will observe all stops on its route).

Tickets will not be sold on the shuttle bus - Passengers can purchase a ticket on their main service (going either Belfast or Carrickfergus direction).

Intending passengers on the Lower Station Road will have to walk to their nearest bus stop on the Shore Road.

Ulsterbus  Services 67, 74 & 75 - Dungannon Road Closures, Commencing Monday 14th March 2016 

Road Traffic Watch Report
On the B131 Tamnamore Road at Verner’s Bridge the closure will be “24/7” for 10 weeks to allow total refurbishment of the 100 year old bridge. The signed diversion route suits all classes of road users but the majority of traffic is expected to use the M1 Between Junctions 13 and 14 to get past the closure.

On the B45 Eglish Road the closure will also be “24/7” for up to 10 weeks to allow construction of a retaining wall and vehicle barrier. The signed diversion route makes use of the nearest available B class roads.

Service 74 – Eglish Village to Oona Bridge for 10 weeks.
The 74 Caledon bus will turn at Eglish onto the Stilgo Road and Terryscollop Road to Battleford Road at Oonagh Bridge and back on route.

Service 75 – Motorway Roundabout Tamnamore to Verner’s Inn for 10 Weeks.
75 service will go via the M1 14 Tamnamore to 13 Loughgall exit and onto the Tamnamore/Clonmore Road to the Derrylee Road. The bus Stop at Verners Inn Garage will be moved to the M1 bridge on the Derrylee Road. The bus stops at Tamnamore PS/Riverdale will be suspended during this time.

 
Ulsterbus - Stewartstown Road Stop Suspension

With immediate effect, due to construction works the bus stop located on the Stewartstown Road CITY BOUND at the Shaws Road junction has been suspended for the duration of the Belfast Rapid Transport works to the footpath.
The nearest alternative stops are located at Stewartstown Road – Saint Genevieve’s (Connor Rise) or Andersonstown Road – Ballyowen. This will affect Ulsterbus service 532.

 
Ulsterbus - Donegall Street Relocation of Bus Stop

Relocation of 1st bus stop in York Street

Due to demolition and rebuilding work associated with the new University of Ulster building at York Street it will be necessary to suspend the first stop in York Street for 30 months from 09:30 on Friday 9th October 2015.

All services Metro and Ulsterbus will all be relocated to the 2nd stop  near Frederick Street. The inner lane will be taken out to be used as a covered walkway for pedestrians as there will be a hoarding the length of the footpath from Donegall Street to Frederick Street for the duration of the work.
The bus shelter will be inaccessible but there will be a marked gap in the covered walkway to allow boarding/alighting at this point.

Free passenger overflow parking now available at Dufferin Avenue, Bangor for Translink passengers.
