Translink announces coach transfer option for Newry train customers

14 March 2016

Translink has announced that NI Railways monthly or annual ticket customers travelling from Newry, Poyntzpass or Scarva can now use their rail ticket to transfer onto the Goldline 238 service that travels between Newry and Belfast.

Translink Head of Rail Services Hilton Parr says the development follows engagement with local passengers:

“We want to make services as attractive as possible and realise that journey flexibility and convenience are extremely important to our customers.

“This new transfer option between train and coach gives people more journey choice with the Goldline 238 service operating every 15 minutes at peak periods.

“Our modern coaches provide a relaxing journey with comfortable leather seating and free WiFi so you can sit back and catch up on work or browse the internet plus avoid sitting in stressful car traffic congestion.

“We hope this latest development will benefit many of our rail monthly and annual ticket customers and meet their journey requirements.”

Passengers must present their valid monthly or annual NI Railways ticket to the coach driver on boarding. Customers from Poyntzpass or Scarva, are advised to use Goldline bus stops in Loughbrickland or Banbridge. For further details click www.translink.co.uk or call 028 90 66 66 30.
