Reel treat for Movie Enthusiasts

Film fans across Northern Ireland are in for a treat when the annual Cinemagic International Film and Television Festival for Young People opens in Belfast on 16 November. The much anticipated festival runs for seventeen action–packed days in various venues across the city including Movie House Cinemas Dublin Rd, Storm Cinemas, and Queen’s Film Theatre.
This year’s extensive programme, which has something for everyone, boasts over 100 film screenings from 15 countries, including special premieres, international features, and documentaries, and with Translink offering a 2 for 1 deal on cinema tickets, there is no better reason to visit the cinema this November!

Documentary fans can enjoy ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ (22 Nov), ‘Belfast Girls’ (22 Nov) and ‘The World According to Sesame Street’ (28 Nov). Fun for all the family is guaranteed with special classic screenings of ‘King Kong’ (17 Nov), ‘Jason and the Argonauts’ (17 Nov), ‘Back to the Future’ (24 Nov), ‘ET’ (18 Nov), and ‘West Side Story’ (18 Nov) to name but a few!
Special Effects wizard Brian Freisinger will enlighten audiences at a Q&A before the screening of ‘Bridge to Terabithia’, (21 Nov). Other Q&A’s include John Reid (Warner Music) and Barry McIlheney (Emap editorial consultant) (27 Nov), Chris Cowey (Top of The Pops), (28 Nov) and Mark Kermode, who will be talking before the screening of ‘Silent Running’ (1 Dec).
