Upgrade of Scarva rail halt
26th October 2007:
NI Railways is advising passengers using Scarva station halt, that due to an up-grade project being carried out, the platform in the Newry direction will be closed for a period of time. The aim of the up-grade project is to improve track quality through Scarva which will benefit passengers on local services and the Enterprise.
From Monday 29 October until Saturday 10 November the platform in the Newry direction at Scarva will be closed for this essential up-grade work.
Alternative arrangements are as follows;
06.20 Portadown to Newry will pick up and set down passengers on the opposite platform at Scarva.
07.00 Portadown to Newry will not serve Scarva.
18.00 and 19.04 Portadown to Newry - All Scarva passengers will be transferred from Portadown to Scarva by road.
There will be no 18.08 or 19.12 service from Scarva to Poyntzpass or Newry during this time.
Saturday services will pick up and set down on the opposite platform
Translink’s General Manager for Rail Services, Mal McGreevy, has assured passengers that every effort would be made to minimise disruption to services.
NI Railways would like to ask passengers for their continued support, in order to improve and up-grade our rail services, and would apologise for any inconvenience caused by these temporary arrangements.
