Disruption to Enterprise Services

08 July 2004

Translink wish to advise passengers of changes to weekend (Saturday and Sunday only) Enterprise cross border services effective from 31st July 2004.

Owing to a major investment program by Iarnród Éireann to upgrade the DART rail service, the rail line between Drogheda and Connolly stations will be closed and a bus substitution service will operate each Saturday and Sunday to facilitate the essential engineering works.

Monday to Friday Enterprise services will operate as normal.

The program of works is expected to continue for approximately ten months, excluding the three weekends prior to Christmas, but including the period from 28 December 2004 to 3 January 2005.

Mal McGreevy, General Manager, Rail Services said; “We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this work may cause and would reassure our passengers that we will be monitoring this work closely and will be doing everything in our power to ensure that passenger disruption is kept to a minimum.  Enterprise services will continue to operate at weekends between Belfast and Drogheda only and an express coach transfer will operate between Drogheda and Dublin Connolly station for the duration of the work.

We have worked closely with Iarnród Éireann to finalise a new Enterprise timetable detailing the substitution services and this is available from all main rail stations from Friday 9th July.

Passengers are asked to allow adequate journey time when making any onward connections as delays will be inevitable depending on road traffic conditions.
