Londonderry Line Closure 16 July to 24 July 2005

4 July 2005

Translink would like to advise all rail passengers that due to essential engineering work to relay track running along the Shore Road area, Londonderry Line services will operate between Londonderry and Antrim only from Saturday 16th July until Sunday 24th July 2005.

Londonderry Line Manager Alistair Kitson explained; “Bus substitution services will operate between Antrim rail station and Belfast Central and Antrim rail station and Mossley West while the work is ongoing.  The work involves relaying new tracks, ballast and steel sleepers and will benefit passengers by aiding smoother, quieter and potentially faster journeys in the long run.”

He continued; “We have taken the opportunity to carry out the engineering work during the July holidays to ensure minimum disruption to passengers.  However we would like to apologise to all those inconvenienced.  Travel information is available from the Call Centre 028 90 66 66 30 or by clicking www.translink.co.uk
