The Christmas countdown is on and most of us have begun preparing for the festivities. Translink’s ‘Eastside Park and Ride’ bus service is a fast and convenient facility and at only £1 for four hours parking can help to take the expense out of city centre parking, the service which runs all year round has now been enhanced to include late night Christmas shopping dates in December.
Gwynn Wilson Translink’s Flexibus Controller explains; “The facility offers really good value for money, it’s hard to beat £2.50 for a full days parking including the use of the bus. It’s so easy passengers simply park their car in the Park and Ride site and hop onto the bus right into town. The bus leaves every 15 minutes and is fully accessible for prams and wheelchairs; the site is well equipped with 180 spaces complete with new sheltered waiting facilities.
“Eastside Park and Ride was re-opened in May of this year and it’s going from strength to strength. We have listened to our passengers and from the 1st December (2004) the bus service will operate into the evening and depart from the car park every 15minutes from 7.45am until 9pm Monday to Friday until Tuesday 23rd December (inclusive).” She concluded.
